HFC Family Movie Day Dallas 2011

On Saturday, June 4, 2011, Heroes for Children and HFC Friends Dallas, our Women's Auxiliary, hosted the third annual HFC Family Movie Day at Studio Movie Grill for metroplex-area families HFC has served over the last year. We welcomed a total of 155 people, 27 families, at this year's movie day featuring a private viewing of Kung Fu Panda 2 in Studio Movie Grill's largest theater, complete with complimentary lunch, drink and popcorn. Attendees were greeted at the door by HFC Friends volunteers, had a family photo taken and escorted into their theater where volunteers manned a "tattoo station" where kiddos could line up and choose their favorite

Kung Fu Panda 2 stick on tattoos to be put on and wear during the movie!
As the movie played volunteers put together goodies for each family to take home including movie giveaways provided by Paramount Studios like small and large movie posters and stick on movie themed tattoos as well as a printed family photo taken upon guests arrival. Each family was so gracious thanking HFC volunteers and staff for such a wonderful event allowing their entire family to particpate in and provide a sense of "normalcy" during the difficult battle of having a child with cancer.

Heroes for Children would like to especially thank the following for their efforts that made this event so successful:

Studio Movie Grill Dallas @ Royal Lane: Angie Roberts, Event Coordinator

SMG Staff and Event Manager, Michael

Paramount Studios for Donating Movie Givewaways

HFC Friends Movie Day Chairs: Nancy McMahon & Juliet Siddons

HFC Friends Volunteers

Generation HEROES Volunteers: Victoria Cardenas & Robert Dye

HFC Staff & Addtional Volunteers

A huge thank you to all for helping make Movie Day 2011 so special!!!
